WARWICK, R.I. — Holyoke Ward 2 Councilor Wilmer Puello-Mota is challenging the admissibility of witness statements and a search of his cellphone in a Rhode Island court where he is facing charges of possession of child pornography, forgery, counterfeiting and obstruction of the judicial system. He's scheduled to be back in a courtroom in Warwick, Rhode Island on Sept. 12 according to records there. Puello-Mota's attorney, John M. Cicilline, didn't return a phone call Friday. Any resolution in the case would follow three years of legal wrangling in both states.
